Holbert headed home

CIRCLEVILLE — Terry Holbert is headed home to Trimble High School after 11 seasons as coach of the Logan Elm football team.

Holbert’s hiring was on the agenda for Tuesday night’s meeting of the board of education for Trimble Local Schools and WSEO is reporting he was approved.

Holbert came to Logan Elm for the 2015 season after a three-year stint as the head coach at Millersport where he earned Division VII Coach of the Year honors in 2014.

After a couple of lean years, Holbert guided the Braves to three straight playoff appearances from 2022 to 2024 and leaves LE with a 49-65 record over his 11 seasons at the helm. He had an 8-3 record against Circleville.

Holbert will be replacing the man who coached him in high school in Phil Faires, who retired after 32 seasons leading the Tomcats.

Trimble, playing in Division VII, went 7-5 last season.

Terry Holbert guided Logan Elm to an 8-3 record against Circleville, including five straight wins in the Backyard Brawl.
