Lions use fast start to roll to 64-43 win at LE

Liberty Union got off to a hot start on the way to grabbing a 64-43 win over host Logan Elm Friday night.

Midway through the first period, the Lions connected on three straight three-pointers and ended the quarter up 19-8.

After hitting only three of 16 shots in the first quarter, the Braves continued to struggle in the second hitting only five of 13 attempts. While the Lions weren’t shooting a much higher percentage, going 16-36 in the first half, they were getting the rebounds. Nine offensive rebounds in the second quarter helped LU lead 40-20 at the break. 

The Lions held their hosts to only four points in the third quarter to lead 56-24.

Kiannah Ingram led Logan Elm with 15 points Friday (see more game photos)

Kat Aubery led the Lions with 20 points and Abbie Riddle pitched in 12. 

Kiannah Ingram put in 15 to lead Logan Elm and Kimberly Petty added eight. 

Logan Elm (4-14, 0-10) hosts Fairfield Union Tuesday and Liberty Union (9-8, 4-7) will host Circleville Tuesday.
