Mustangs win fourth SVC match in as many tries

BAINBRIDGE — Westfall continues its winning ways when it comes to SVC golf. 

The Mustangs had a team score of 161 to best Unioto (169) and the rest of the Scioto Valley Conference for its fourth win in as many league matchups in the match at Valley Vista Golf Course. 

Southeastern’s Brayden Popp and Unioto’s Charlie Lewis were co-medalists as they each shot a 38. 

Westfall’s Brendan Biegler was one shot off the pace with a 39. Dalton Bush posted a round of 40 while Jacob Hicks and Colton Brungarth each shot a 41. Ian Camden shot 49 and Jasiah Story finished with a round of 55. 

The four wins have the Mustangs on top of the league with 32 points with four matches remaining. Unioto — second in each match — sits right behind with 28 team points. Zane Trace is in third with 23 team points. 

The SVC teams convene next at Piketon’s Big Beaver Golf Course Wednesday. 

Bloom-Carroll 18 shot better than Teays Valley in latest MSL match

LANCASTER — The third Mid-State League Buckeye Division boys golf match was held Thursday at Lancaster Golf Club.

Bloom-Carroll came out on top with a score of 325 while Teays Valley was second with 343.

BC’s Carter Price was medalist with a 74. 

Teays Valley was led by Noah Hilgenberg with a 79, Vance Hnager shot 86, Caden Sherman and James Bush each shot 89, Carter Hutchison shot 99 and Branson Crabtree posted a 105. 

Circleville took third with a score of 349. Fernandez led the Tigers with an 83. Seimetz shot an 84, Reuter 86, Siembida 96, McConnell 115 and Groff 120. 

Logan Elm was fifth with a team score of 360. Grant Cline led the Braves with an 84, Parker Calder shot 89, Will Higginbotham had 90, Mason Gentry and Graham Williams each shot 97 and Judson Pollock shot a 118. 

Amanda-Clearcreek was seventh with a score of 425. Caiden Riddle shot 94 to lead the Aces. Ashden Vanscoy and AJ Moyer each had a 107, Breece Stone shot 117 and William Francis shot 140. 

Girls Golf 

Circleville battles pair of OCC schools

REYNOLDSBURG — Circleville took on a pair of Ohio Capital Conference schools Thursday and posted a 185. Canal Winchester was on top with 166 and Pickerington High School North shot 183. 

Elaina Seeley led Circleville with a 37, Izzy Seeley shot 44, Lis Sharp had 51 and Isabelle Perini had 53 at Blacklick Woods Golf Course.
