CHILLICOTHE — Caden Cutright scored three times Friday night as host Unioto beat Westfall 48-26.
Cutright scored on passes of 20 and 32 yards from Newton Hoops and had an 83-yard interception return as the Shermans held a 21-12 halftime lead.
Westfall closed to within a point about three minutes into the second half when Bryce Wickline connected with Trent Walters on a 32-yard touchdown pass and then Wickline hit Jaden Towler for a two-point conversion.
Unioto put a stop to the Mustangs’ comeback hopes when Ashton Crace made an interception giving the Shermans the ball at the Westfall 18. A short time later, Hoops ran it in from two yards out.
The Shermans added another third quarter score on a run from Davis Long and Connor Dollison scored twice in the fourth to push the home team to a 48-20 lead with about three minutes left in the game.
Westfall added one last score when Wickline connected with Walters on a 15-yard touchdown.
Towler led the Mustangs in receiving with 176 yards on 13 receptions and he scored the game’s first touchdown. Wickline was 24-36 for 317 yards with three interceptions.
Dollison led the Shermans with 140 yards on 16 carries.

Westfall (2-2, 0-1) is back on the road next week with a trip to Paint Valley (3-1, 1-0). Paint Valley beat Southeastern (1-3, 0-1) 49-9 Friday. Unioto (3-1, 1-0) goes to Huntington (0-4, 0-1) which lost 41-7 to Piketon (4-0, 1-0).
