The Blue Lions were up 26-20 after three periods.

LE’s Ne’miah Waugh had the first five points of the fourth. After a three-pointer from Washington, LE cut the gap back to two with a layup. Waugh had a steal and a layup with two minutes left to tie the score at 29-29 and that’s what the scoreboard read when time expired.

The lead went back and forth in overtime when the Braves’ Camden Redd scored with 3.6 seconds to tie the game at 37-37.

Washington called a timeout and then the Blue Lions turned the ball over on the inbounds play giving it back to LE under its own basket.

The Braves inbounded to Waugh who was fouled in the act of shooting as time expired. With no time on the clock, he went to the line and hit the first free throw to send his team on to the sectional final.

Waugh finished the night with 17 points and Carson Summer kicked in 10 for LE.

The Braves (11-13) will play No. 6 Unioto (18-5) at Miami Trace High school at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday.
