Logan Elm tops Westfall in BB, SB; AC softball topples Panthers

SB – Logan Elm 11, Westfall 0

A big first inning propelled Logan Elm to an 11-0 win over visiting Westfall Monday afternoon. 

The Braves put seven runs across in the first inning – five with two outs – to take control of their opener with the Mustangs. 

Sadie Binkley kept the Mustangs under control from the mound as she went the first four innings allowing only one hit, walking one and getting 11 of the 12 outs by strikeout. 

Peyton Richendollar pitched the last two innings for the Braves. She gave up one hit, walked three and struck out four. 

Adrina Hicks took the loss for the Mustangs as she was responsible for the seven runs in the first inning, giving up three hits and walking four. Delana Landefeld pitched four and two-thirds in relief allowing four more runs. 

After the seven runs in the first, Logan Elm added another run in the second when Tia Fowler scored on a passed ball. 

Hannah Gooley scored LE’s ninth run in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by Lucy Caplinger. 

Richendollar ended the game in the bottom of the sixth when she homered to right to score her and Fowler and put the mercy rule in effect.

The Braves welcome Washington CH Tuesday and the Mustangs will host Circleville Thursday. 

BB – Logan Elm 5, Westfall 3

A big hit in the bottom of the sixth flipped the scoreboard and helped Logan Elm to a 5-3 win over visiting Westfall Monday. 

Zane Seimer drove in two runs on a triple to centerfield to put the Braves up 4-3 and then he scored on a sacrifice fly.

Colton Eplin started for the Braves. He went five and two-thirds innings giving up six hits, walking two and striking out three. Seimer pitched the final inning and a third to get the win. He struck out two. 

Brenden Tuttle was on the mound for the Mustangs pitching all six innings. He allowed four hits, walked two and struck out eight. 

Westfall heads to Wheelersburg Tuesday. Logan Elm hosts Washington Court House Tuesday. 

SB – Amanda-Clearcreek 10, Miami Trace 2

Amanda-Clearcreek put four across in the first, four more in the third and two more in the fifth to beat Miami Trace 10-2. 

After the Panthers put a run across in the top of the first, Hailey Sowers started the Aces off with a solo home run. A few batters later, Averie Hutchison hit a 3-2 pitch over the fence in left field to put the Aces up 4-1. 

Cassadee Steinmetz went the distance on the mound for the Aces. She gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits with two walks and she struck out three. 

In the third inning, the Aces added runs on an RBI single from Abby King, an RBI double from Alex Martin and an RBI double from Steinmetz.

Haley Robinson drove in the last two AC runs with a double in the fifth. 

The Aces travel to West Muskingum Wednesday.
