SB — Logan Elm 9, Zane Trace 5

KINNIKINNICK — A big sixth inning solidified a 9-5 win for Logan Elm at Zane Trace Wednesday. 

After LE scored two runs in the top of the first, neither team put a run across until the sixth.

Lynsay Vanhoose started the sixth with a triple to center and Lucy Caplinger followed it up with a walk. A sacrifice bunt by Sadie Binkley scored Vanhoose. 

Caplinger stole third and then Ryleigh Wolfe was walked. Taylor Fowler laid down a bunt that scored Caplinger. 

Peyton Richendollar singled to center to score Wolfe and Morgan Arnold singed to drive in Fowler and Richendollar was able to score on the throw to make it 7-0.

After a ground out, Maleah Garnder singled to score Arnold and then Vanhoose doubled to score Gardner to finish up the scoring. 

The Pioneers broke through with two runs in their half of the sixth and added three in the seventh.

Binkley went the first five innings allowing two hits and striking out eight. Richendollar went the last two innings allowing two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three. 

Logan Elm (2-0) hosts Jackson Thursday. 

SB – Sheridan 4, Circleville 0

Sheridan didn’t mind facing two outs as that’s when the Generals did their damage Wednesday in beating Circleville 4-0. 

A two-out walk to Sheridan’s Cora Hall in the fourth inning was followed by an RBI double from Payton Powell and an RBI single from Hailey Mueller. 

Avery Mueller had a two-out RBI single for Sheridan in the fifth and Cora Hall had a two-out RBI single in the seventh to finish out the scoring. 

Circleville was limited to four hits on the afternoon. 

Gabby McConnell went the distance on the mound for the Tigers allowing seven hits, walked three and struck out eight. 

Megan Ranck went the first three innings for the Generals, giving up the four hits and striking out one. 

Hall pitched the last four innings walking one and striking out five. 

Circleville (0-1) heads to Westfall Thursday. 

SB – West Muskingum 17, Amanda-Clearcreek 3 (5 innings)

ZANESVILLE — Amanda-Clearcreek started off Wednesday’s game at West Muskingum scoring first, but the Tornadoes answered with runs in each of their four at-bats to take a 17-3 win in five innings. 

The Aces collected only four hits – all singles – in the contest.

West Muskingum had 13 base hits in the game, including a pair of home runs, a triple and three doubles. 

The Aces (1-1) host Teays Valley Thursday. 

BB — Teays Valley 7, St. Francis DeSales 6

COLUMBUS — Teays Valley scored three in the fifth inning on the way to a 7-6 win over St. Francis DeSales. 

The Vikings scored four in the top of the first, but DeSales answered with five in bottom half of the inning. 

With two outs and two runners on base in the fifth, TV’s Jeremiah Fabbro singled to right to score Brady Farmer and tie the game. 

Tyler Blankenship then hit a drive to right that scored Trevor Hamilton and Fabbro.

DeSales added one more run in the fifth.

Tyler Matthews came on in the sixth with two runners on base and got out the Vikings out of the inning. He struck out two batters in the seventh on the way to recording the save. 

Brody Weiler started and went four innings for the win. He gave up five runs (two earned) on five hits with three walks and he struck out three. 

Nico Trapasso pitched an inning in relief, walking two and striking out one. 

The Vikings (1-1) are at Dublin Jerome Friday. 

BB — Miami Trace 12, Circleville 0 (6 innings)

Miami Trace scored in five of their six innings on the way to beating host Circleville 12-0 Wednesday. 

Ty Foster got the start for the Tigers giving up five runs in an inning and a third, allowing six hits, walking three and striking out two. Zach Bell pitched four innings giving up seven runs (six earned) on three hits, five walks and striking out three. Brody Brisker came on for the final two outs – walking one and striking out one. 

Circleville (1-1) is at Liberty Union Monday.
