CIRCLEVILLE — All the scoring came on big plays and it was Amanda-Clearcreek that had more of them as the Aces left Logan Elm with a 31-6 win Friday night.
Leading the way with big plays was AC’s Tommy Stai who had a dozen carries for 202 yards — 158 of those yards coming on three scoring plays.
Stai started off taking a direct snap on the game’s first play and running 68 yards for a quick AC lead.

AC’s lead stayed at 7-0 until two minutes into the second quarter when the Braves got on the scoreboard. Ayden Hartley took the handoff and went 84 yards for a score. LE’s PAT kick hit off the upright leaving the Aces ahead by a point.
A minute later, Stai broke off a 44-yard scoring run.
LE had the ball late in the half trying to tighten the game before halftime but it was AC’s Evan Kern stepping in front of a pass and returning it 57 yards. Hayden Dunn’s PAT kick made it 21-6 in favor of AC with 55 seconds left in the half.
Stai only had one carry in the second half and he made it count. He broke off a 46-yard run to put the Aces up 28-6 with 7:34 to go in the third.
The scoring was capped when Dunn connected on a 37-yard field goal with 7:21 left in the game.
AC finished the night with 341 yards of offense – 329 on the ground. Seven different Aces had carries with Stai’s 202 yards leading the way.
Logan Elm ended the night with 212 yards – 163 on the ground. Hartley was the Braves’ leader with 115 yards on 11 carries.
Austin Holbrook was 5-14 passing for 49 yards with Tyler Bowlby and Connor Kint each catching two passes.
Amanda-Clearcreek (4-4, 2-2) returns home to host Fairfield Union (4-4, 3-2) next week as the Aces look to secure a spot in the postseason. The Aces are sitting at 11th in their region with the top 12 teams making it to Week 11.
Logan Elm (1-7, 1-4) steps out of league play with a trip to Alexander next week.
