Mustangs win district title; Tigers finish as district runner-up

A balanced offensive attack on Saturday led Westfall past Alexander 24-26, 25-20, 25-17 and 25-17 in a Division III Southeast District final at Waverly.While the standout tandem of Kristin Phillips (20) and Marissa Mullins combined for 32 kills, Hailey Young (12) and Ashley Hegarty stepped up to put away 20 kills. The Westfall girls cross country team finished as a Division III Southeast District runner-up on Saturday at Southeastern.Freshman Caitlyn Shipley finished second in 19:58.67), only bested by Peebles’ Katy Seas (19:48.64).
