Miami Trace 42, Circleville 2

The Tigers had to endure a pair of weather delays on Friday before succumbing in a 42-2 non-league setback to the host Miami Trace Panthers.

Miami Trace scored a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter on a five-yard scamper by Jayden LeBeau and a six-yard touchdown pass from Westin Martin to Josh Gilmore.

The Panthers doubled their lead going into intermission on touchdown runs by Landen Cope and LeBeau.

Circleville was held to 20 yards of total offense and committed three turnovers in the first half.

The Tigers (0-1) host Bloom-Carroll next week to open Mid-State League Buckeye Division play.

• Amanda-Clearcreek will resume its suspended game at Fairfield Union on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Aces hold a 14-0 lead and are driving with three minutes to go in the second quarter on the Fairfield Union 10-yard line.

A eight-yard touchdown pass from Nate Hunter to Hunter Matheny gave the Aces a 7-0 lead with 3:03 remaining in the opening stanza.

The Aces doubled their lead in the second quarter on a 10-yard touchdown run courtesy of Matheny.

Jonathan Weaver added the pair of PATs.

• Westfall had its season-opener at Southeastern postponed and the game will kickoff on Saturday at 7 p.m.
