A pair of touchdowns in the second quarter on Friday allowed host Teays Valley to take control of a Mid-State League Buckeye Division game and defeat Fairfield Union 42-13.
Each team scored a touchdown in the opening stanza, with the Vikings reaching the scoreboard on a three-yard run by Camden McDanel.
Touchdown runs of one yard by Hunter Young and two yards courtesy of McDanel gave the Vikings a 21-6 lead going into intermission.
Fairfield Union cut its deficit to 21-13 midway through the third quarter, but the Vikings answered on a 24-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Love to Cooper Booth.
Teays Valley tacked on two more scores in the final period on one-yard touchdown runs by Landyn Brown and Love.
The Vikings amassed 275 of its 344 yards of total offense on the ground, paced by Brown rushing for 109 yards on 16 totes. McDanel added 14 carries for 95 yards and two scores.
Love was 4 of 8 passing for 69 yards and a touchdown, with Booth grabbing two of those completions for 42 yards.
Fairfield Union (0-2, 0-2) gained all of its 230 yards of offense on the ground.
The Vikings (2-0, 2-0) step out of league play next week when they host Bishop Watterson.

Hamilton Township scored the 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter on Friday to secure a 41-18 MSL-Buckeye win over visiting Logan Elm.
The Braves actually jumped out to a 12-0 lead on touchdown passes of 40 yards to Braylen Baker and 30 yards to Jason Sailor from Conner Robinson.
Hamilton Township (1-1, 1-1) scored the next three touchdowns on runs of one-yard from Brock McGuire and four yards courtesy of Stephen Mikell sandwiched around a 24-yard pass from McGuire to C.J. Holt.
The Braves cut their deficit to 21-18 on a 17-yard pass from Robinson to Gabe Chalfin.
Logan Elm (0-2, 0-2) continues league play next week at Circleville (0-2, 0-1), which lost 34-0 to Bloom-Carroll last night.

Circleville 0

K.J. Benedict completed 11 of 13 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns on Friday to send Bloom-Carroll to a 34-0 MSL-Buckeye win over host Circleville.
Hobie Scarberry rushed for 102 yards on just four totes for Bloom-Carroll (2-0, 2-0), and Evan Willet made four receptions for 76 yards and a pair of scores.
Isac Payne led the Tigers with 26 carries for 102 yards.
Circleville (0-2, 0-1) hosts Logan Elm next week for a league game. The Braves lost 41-18 last night to Hamilton Township.
