First quarter onslaught sends Bulldogs past Braves

Bloom-Carroll stayed on track for its meetings of unbeatens against Teays Valley next week by recording a 49-13 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win on Friday over host Logan Elm.


The Bulldogs (8-0, 5-0) jumped out to a 35-0 lead just 10 minutes into the game. Chase Plantz (seven, 60 yards) and Dylan Armentrout (three, 40 yards) each had a pair of touchdown runs and Clay Dozer caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Brodyn Bishop for the other Bloom-Carroll score.


AJ Moore had a 10-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that extended the Bulldogs’ lead to 42-0 at halftime.


The Braves scored the final two touchdowns of the game on runs of three yards by Garret Summers and five yard courtesy of Blayton Reid.


Bloom-Carroll outgained Logan Elm 364-137.


Reid paced the Braves with 83 yards rushing on 17 carries.


Logan Elm (3-5, 1-4) wraps up its home slate next week against Amanda-Clearcreek (5-3, 3-2).
