Aces, Tigers prevail over SVC schools

Circleville used a strong opening quarter to take the lead on Thursday and claim a 48-39 non-league win over visiting Westfall.
The Tigers jumped out to an 18-11 lead after a period of play and still led 29-20 at halftime and 37-31 entering the final period of play.
Logan Jones poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the Tigers, Gabby McConnell followed with 10 and Lily Winter added seven.
Gabby Patete had 15 points to lead the Mustangs and Tara Wolfe added six.
The Tigers (5-6) resume Mid-State League Buckeye Division play on Tuesday at Hamilton Township, while the Mustangs (3-9) return to Scioto Valley Conference play the same evening at Huntington.

Zane Trace 40

Amanda-Clearcreek controlled the middle quarters of action on Thursday to defeat host Zane Trace 50-40 in a non-league contest.
The two teams entered the second quarter tied at 12-12, but the Aces took a 27-18 lead at halftime and expanded that advantage to 40-26 going into the fourth quarter.
Emily Buckley paced all scorers with 18 points, including eight in the second and third quarters, Grace Davis scored seven of her 13 points in the third quarter and Hailey Sowers added 12.
The Aces (6-5) host Logan Elm on Tuesday for an MSL-Buckeye clash.

Groveport 64,
Teays Valley 57

Teays Valley was unable to hold onto a three-point halftime lead on Thursday in a 64-57 non-league loss to host Groveport.
Jackson Smith paced the Vikings with 15 points, Sam Miller had 13 and Peyton Weiler added 12.
The Vikings (5-5) continue non-league play on Tuesday at New Albany.
