Westfall’s Dumm fires one-hitter in win over LU

Olivia Dumm tossed a one-hitter on Thursday, leading Westfall to a 9-0 non-conference win over visiting Liberty Union.
The Westfall right-hander walked none and struck out 10 batters.
Westfall broke open a scoreless game with a six-run fourth inning and tacked on three more runs in the fifth.
Delana Landefeld went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored and Madison Kearney contributed a 2-for-3 evening with three RBI and two runs scored for the Mustangs. Dumm, Makayla Cook and Sydney Fuller added two hits apiece. Fuller drove in two runs and scored and Cook also registered an RBI.
The Mustangs (2-1) open defense of their Scioto Valley Conference championship from a year ago on Monday with a trip to the Huntington Hills.

The Braves dropped to 0-3 on the season with a loss to the defending Division I district champion Gales.
Logan Elm opens MSL-Buckeye play today at Teays Valley.
Liberty Union 21,
Westfall 7

Liberty Union pounded out 15 hits and took advantage of five errors to post a 21-7 non-conference win on Thursday over host Westfall.
Caden Foreman went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored to lead the Mustangs. Bryce Wickline, Hunter McCoy and Trent Walters each singled and drove in a run.
The Mustangs (2-1) open SVC play on Monday at Huntington.
