TV baseball defeats Bloom-Carroll

Matthew Farmer and Hayden Wells combined to check Bloom-Carroll to just a pair of hits on Thursday, lifting host Teays Valley to a 2-1 Mid-State League Buckeye Division victory.
Farmer earned the win by going five and one-third innings. He allowed two hits, an earned run and walked three. Wells came on and retired the final five Bloom-Carroll batters to nail down the save.
The Vikings took a 1-0 lead in the first. Peyton Weiler doubled to left with one out, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a sacrifice fly to left off the bat of A.J. Moniaci.
Teays Valley doubled its lead in the third when Tommy Williams doubled to left with one out, advanced to third on an error and scored on a passed ball.
Landen McFarland paced the Vikings by going 2-for-3 at the dish.
Teays Valley (2-1, 2-1) hosts Fairfield Union today for a league game.


Amanda-Clearcreek 5,
Hamilton Township 1

Amanda-Clearcrek scored five runs in its final three at-bats on Thursday to record a 5-1 MSL-Buckeye win over host Hamilton Township.
The Aces scored three runs in the sixth to take a 4-1 lead.
Ryan Chambers doubled and scored, and Grant Guiler and Peyton Cassley each singled and drove in a run. Guiler added two runs scored and Cassley also scored.
Chambers worked six innings, allowing a hit and unearned run. He struck out eight to earn the win for the Aces (4-2, 2-1), who continue league play when they host Circleville.


Westfall 6,
Paint Valley 5

Westfall forced extra innings on Thursday with a three-run seventh and walked off two innings later with a 6-5 Scioto Valley Conference win over visiting Paint Valley.
Trent Walters opened up the home seventh with a single to left and was joined on the base pads when Ashton Nunemaker worked a walk.
Following a strikeout, Caden Foreman singled to center to drive in Walters.
A ground ball error allowed Nunemaker to score and advanced Foreman to second with the tying run.
Foreman moved onto third via a passed ball and scored on a ground out by Hunter McCoy to tie the game at 5-5.
In the ninth, Foreman walked, stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball.
An error on a ground ball allowed Foreman to score the winning run.
Foreman went 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored and Hunter Wright singled and drove in two runs and Peyton Weiss doubled and drove in a run to lead the Mustangs.
Noah Stonerock tossed two innings of relief and allowed a hit to earn the win for the Mustangs (4-0, 2-0), who continue conference play today when they host Piketon.


Softball
Teays Valley 7,
Bloom-Carroll 7

Teays Valley rallied to force extra innings on Thursday when darkness forced a MSL-Buckeye game with Bloom-Carroll to be suspended in the top of the 10th inning.
The game will be concluded when the Vikings travel to Carroll on April 25.

Westfall 11,
Paint Valley 3

Westfall jumped out to an 8-0 lead through five innings of play on Thursday on its way to an 11-3 SVC win over host Paint Valley.
The Mustangs pounded out 16 hits in the win, led by Ava Heath going 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored and Makayla Cook contributing a 3-for-4 evening with two RBI and a run scored. Olivia Dumm was 2-for-4 with two RBI, Delana Landefeld went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI and Emma Henry was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Dumm allowed two hits and struck out 11 over five innings to claim the win for the Mustangs (4-1, 2-0), who host Piketon today for a conference game.
