Logan Elm won five events on both the boys’ and girls’ side in winning their own Phil Peloquin Invitational Friday evening.Â
LE’s girls piled up 161 points Friday to outpace the competition. Westfall was second with 114 points, Fairfield Christian Academy had 113 and Amanda-Clearcreek was fourth out of the eight teams with 84 points.
LE’s boys picked up 147-1/2 points to take the top spot while Logan was second with 106. Westfall was sixth with 79-1/2 and Amanda-Clearcreek was seventh with 32-1/2.
The day’s top performer was Westfall’s Peyton Proffit who was a tie-breaker away from winning four events.
Proffitt was the top finisher in the 100-meter hurdles, 200 meters and long jump and lost a tie-breaker to Logan Elm’s Tayla Tootle in the pole vault.
LE’s Annabelle Rutter had a strong showing with wins in the 100 meters and 300-meter hurdles. She finished second to Proffitt in the 100-meter hurdles.Â
Camryn Ross won the 800 meters for the Braves and Annie Karshner won the discus. LE’s Olivia Adams was second in the discus and the shot put.
Westfall picked up a win in the 1,600 meters from Caitlyn Shipley and from Ashley Hegarty in the high jump.
Amanda-Clearcreek brought home wins in the 400-meter and 800-meter relays. Grace Davis, Addy Jones, Madelynn Marshall and Madison Shively teamed up to win both events.

In the boys’ meet, Logan Elm’s Nate Edge was more than a second faster than the competition in the 110-meter hurdles and Drew Tomlinson was first across in the 300-meter hurdles.Â
LE’s Jude Braun was 20 inches better than the competition in winning the long jump.
Braun joined with Allen Boerner, Mason Carpenter and Anthony Steele to win the 800-meter relay.
In the meet’s final event, Braun, Tomlinson, Boerner and Carpenter were first in the 1,600-meter relay.
Westfall’s Henry Barnes was first in the 3,200 meters.
The Mustangs also picked up a win from Tyler Shipley in the pole vault.
Logan Elm travels to Logan Tuesday with Amanda-Clearcreek headed to Fairfield Union. Both will be at the Circleville Invitational Friday. Westfall is off until May 9 when the Mustangs compete in the opening night of the SVC championships at Adena High School.Â
