Teays Valley launched a public search for a new head football coach on Tuesday.
The Vikings are accepting a letter of interest, resume and references from applicants until Monday, November 28th by contacting athletic director Joel Baker at jbaker@tvsd.us.
Mark Weber, the school’s winningest coach in program history with a 60-31 record, resigned earlier this month after nine seasons. The Capital University graduate led the Vikings to five Mid-State League Buckeye Division championships, three playoff appearances and the first postseason win in program history.
Teays Valley is coming off a 5-5 mark this past season.
The 2023 season will be the last for the Vikings in the MSL-Buckeye before they depart and join the Ohio Capital Conference. Teays Valley will be aligned in the OCC’s Buckeye Division beginning in 2024, along with Reynoldsburg, Pickerington Central, Newark, Groveport, Canal Winchester, Lancaster and Logan.
Teays Valley will get a preview of what OCC play will look like when it travels to Lancaster’s Fulton Field on Aug. 18 to take on the Golden Gales. The Vikings’ final MSL contest will be on Oct. 20 when they visit Fairfield Union.
