Logan Elm had one of its most complete offensive performances of the season on Tuesday, having seven players reach the scoring column in a 54-52 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win over host Hamilton Township.
Alden Williams paced the Braves with 13 points, and Drew Tomlinson, Gage Arnett, Carson Summers and Brody Sabine added eight apiece.
“We had different guys step up at different times and our guys did a nice job of making the extra pass and taking care of the basketball with just five turnovers,” Logan Elm coach Doug Stiverson said. “We played eight guys and seven of them scored, so that was nice to see.”
Alden Williams scored eight points, including draining a pair of three-pointers, in the first quarter to help get the Braves started on offense.

Hamilton Township led 11-10 after a quarter of play and 24-21 at halftime, but the Braves made their move with a 22-point outburst in the third quarter on 9 of 15 (60 percent) shooting.
Five players contributed to the scoring surge, led by Brody Sabine, Nemiah Waugh and Williams scoring five points apiece in two field goals. Drew Tomlinson added two baskets.
“Hamilton Township was trying to do some different things to take away Nemiah, so when they doubled him he did a nice job of finding the open man and our guys were able to get some nice shots that they knocked down,” Stiverson said.

The Braves took a 43-40 lead into the fourth quarter, where they increased their advantage to as many as 10, before a late run by the Rangers made the closing seconds interesting.
“We were very active on defense and did a nice job of communicating as a team, but sometimes you have to tip your cap and (Javon McBride) made some shots from literally 30-feet away from the basket to help Hamilton Township get back into the game,” Stiverson said. “I was proud of the way our guys kept competing and found a way to win the game.”
Arnett led the Braves with five points in the fourth and Summers chipped in four.

Javon McBride led all scorers with 22 points and Trent Renz added 17 for the Rangers (3-11, 1-8).
The Braves (6-8, 4-5) continue league play on Saturday when they host rival Circleville.
