WILLIAMSPORT— Westfall had a big first quarter on the way beating visiting New Hope Christian 52-40 Tuesday night.
The Statesmen had an early 4-2 lead, but the Mustangs scored 16 of the next 18 points to take an 18-6 lead after the first quarter. Westfall was doing a good job getting to the glass and had a five-shot possession in the first that ended with a basket from Izzy Picklesimer.Â
Westfall’s margin was 27-19 at the half and 37-29 after three.
Marianna Packer led the Mustangs with 20 points. Alyssa Wyman, Aubrey Clark and Adrian Moehl each had seven.

Maren McCallister led New Hope with 23 points and Eden Leist added seven. McCallister now has an even 1,500 points for her high school career.
Westfall (5-14) is back in action Friday hosting Unioto for a 6 p.m. varsity tip.
New Hope (9-5) is taking part in the Rosedale Bible College Invitational this weekend. The Statesmen are scheduled to play Mentor Christian Thursday and Fairfield Christian Saturday.Â
