Three of the five football teams in greater Pickaway County will have new opponents on their respective dockets for this fall.
Circleville dropped long-time non-league opponents and former South Central Ohio League rivals Miami Trace and Washington Court House following the 2020 season to instead open the first two weeks of the season against Scioto Valley Conference members Huntington and Southeastern.
After back-to-back wins over both the Huntsmen and Panthers, the Tigers had to find two new opponents to open this season with.
Circleville will welcome John Glenn to kickoff the season and Vinton County in Week 2.
John Glenn competes in the Muskingum Valley League and posted a 3-7 record last season but played against competition with a combined 72-46 record.
The two schools last met in a 2020 first-round playoff game during the COVID-19 season when all schools qualified for the postseason, with the Muskies prevailing 41-22.
Vinton County is a member of the Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division and finished last season with a 6-5 record against competition with a combined record of 59-60.

Amanda-Clearcreek also has two new non-league opponents as it looks to bounce back from its first winless campaign since 1973.
The Aces open the season by hosting former assistant Eric Valentine and Linden McKinley, which is a member of the Columbus City League. The Panthers posted a 3-6 record last season against a combined schedule that went 41-48.
Amanda-Clearcreek, which has just four home games this season in The Pit, travels to Adena in Week 3 to play the Warriors, who are now led by former Teays Valley assistant Doug Miller. Adena, a member of the Scioto Valley Conference, posted a 3-7 record last season against a combined schedule that went 62-50.
The Aces and Warriors last met twice during the 2006 season, with Amanda-Clearcreek traveling to Frankfort and prevailing 28-13 during the regular season and hosting the rematch in the playoffs, winning 15-7, on its way to the eighth regional championship in program history.
Amanda-Clearcreek dropped Jonathan Alder and St. Charles to make room for Linden McKinley and Adena.
Alumnus Chet Saum takes over as head coach after Steve Daulton resigned last November after five seasons of leading the Aces to a 28-25 overall mark with a league championship and three playoff wins.

Teays Valley will get a preview of competition in the Ohio Capital Conference Buckeye Division before commencing its final campaign through the Mid-State League Buckeye Division.
The Vikings open the season at Fulton Field to take on the Lancaster Golden Gales, who went 2-9 a season ago against a combined schedule that went 68-62.
Teays Valley returns home to the confines of Viking Stadium in Week 2 for its final non-league game against the Logan Chieftains, an independent that went 4-6 against a combined schedule that went 65-48.
Logan and Teays Valley join the Ohio Capital Conference for the 2024-25 school year and will meet annually in Week 10 as designated rivals in the conference’s Buckeye Division. Other rivalry games include Canal Wincheter-Groveport, Lancaster-Newark and Pickerington Central-Reynoldsburg.
Lancaster is the only new opponent on the docket this season, taking the place of Chillicothe.
The Vikings play their final MSL game on Oct. 20 at Fairfield Union and will likely be facing most league opponents for the final time, as the district is expected to continue growing in size and will soon be over double the enrollment of most of its peers in the league.
Brian Cross takes the helm of the program from Mark Weber, who resigned last November following nine seasons. Weber left Ashville as the winningest coach in program history with a 60-31 record and five league championships.
Cross has 25 years of head coaching experience and brings a 248-146 career mark to Ashville that earned him a spot in the Ohio High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2020.
