BALTIMORE — Circleville got in a hole it just wasn’t able to dig out of in falling 60-56 to Liberty Union Friday night. 

Noah Shook had 13 of Liberty Union’s 22 first-quarter points as the Lions got out to a 22-10 lead. 

Circleville nibbled away to make it 35-24 at the half and 44-36 after three. The Tigers were within three points in the fourth but were unable to get any closer.

Shook finished the night as the Lion’s top scorer with 23 points. 

Slater Search led Circleville with 23 points as well and Briley Cramer put in 19. 

Search also had 11 rebounds and Drew Thornsley grabbed six with Cramer grabbing five. Cramer also had five assists and three steals.

The Tigers (7-4,2-4) host Bloom-Carroll Tuesday night while the Lions (6-6, 4-3) head to Fairfield Union.

Braves fall to Falcons

It was an up and down game for Logan Elm Friday night that ended on a down note with Fairfield Union getting a 39-26 win.

The Braves struggled early in falling behind 11-0 in the first quarter. 

Things turned around in the second quarter as LE fought its way back into the game, taking a 16-15 lead late in the half. After FU retook the lead, Blake Kanniard hit a three as time was expiring to give the Braves a 19-17 halftime advantage. 

Coming out of the break, LE’s offensive struggles returned with the Braves being held scoreless again as FU retook the lead 23-19.

The Falcons added 16 points in the fourth while holding the Braves to seven to get the win. 

Caleb Schmelzer led all scorers in putting in 20 for the Falcons.

Carson Summers led the Braves with nine and Kanniard had eight.  

The Falcons (7-5, 4-3) take on Liberty Union Tuesday while Logan Elm (4-8, 2-4) heads to Teays Valley Wednesday.
