WILLIAMSPORT — Adena had its outside shots falling as the Warriors took down host Westfall 59-47 Friday night.
Eleven threes for the Warriors helped them get out in front and hold their lead.
“They shot it extremely well from three and they did it against us last time there, too,” Westfall coach Kyle Joseph said. “Hat’s off to them and, also, we need to do a little better job.”
Adena got out to a 12-7 lead in the first quarter.
Westfall opened the second with a basket form Jeremiah Layton but the next eight points came from Adena’s Easton Henness followed by a basket from Bryson Smith to get out in front 22-9 and the half ended with a 27-18 Adena advantage.

Westfall closed to four points twice early in the third and it was 32-27 midway through the period when Lucas King sunk a pair of threes for Adena followed by one from Henness to go up 41-27. The period ended with Adena leading 46-31.
Adena extended the lead to 50-33, but Westfall had another run to make.
Brydan Gall got it started followed by a basket from Henry Barnes, one from Bryan Craig, another from Gall and one from Brenden Tuttle closed the score to 50-43 with 3:46 left.
Adena ended Westfall’s run with a three-pointer from King and then one from Cayden Lee.
“Those are guys with a lot of pride in their school and each other,” Joseph said of his team fighting back. “Most of that game there were four seniors on the floor – always three and a lot of times four. They’re not going to give up.”

Craig led the Mustangs with 15 points and Layton and Gall each had 10.
King led the Warriors with 17 points, Henness had 16 and Ater had 13.
Westfall will be back in action Monday night hosting Piketon for the opening round of the Division III tournament at 7 p.m.
Friday’s regular season finalé was also a first look at a new lineup after leading scorer Brody Clark was lost for the postseason with a knee injury suffered at Zane Trace Tuesday.
“We really wanted this one tonight but after losing Brody on Tuesday, it was kind of a walk-through for us with kind of a completely different team to get ready for Monday night,” Joseph said. “Because we knew were going to have to practice Saturday and Sunday getting ready for the tournament game on Monday, and we were pretty down Tuesday, we took Wednesday off and had a great day of practice Thursday. We know we still have enough in the room to be able to win tournament games. So, we’re looking forward to it.”

Westfall finishes the regular season with a 14-8 record and went 9-5 in the SVC for a fourth-place finish. Adena finished with a 15-7 record and 10-4 in the league for third place.
