Tigers fall in season finalé at Bloom-Carroll

CARROLL — Circleville made a run at finishing the season with a win, but Bloom-Carroll converted at the line to grab a 63-59 win over the Tigers and a piece of the Mid-State League title.

Circleville (11-13) was behind 30-18 at the half. Slater Search helped the Tigers cut into the Bulldogs’ lead in the third as he put in 10 of his 18 points in the period. Circleville cut four points off the lead as BC led 48-40 entering the fourth.

Briley Cramer had a strong finish to his high school career scoring 12 points in the fourth quarter as the Tigers tried to fight back but the Bulldogs hit 11 of 12 free throws to hold off the CHS comeback.

Cramer had 18 to lead the Tigers along with the 18 from Search.

Cramer finishes as the Tigers’ all-time leading scorer in boys’ basketball with 1,284 points.

Jayse Rockwood led BC with 21 points, Jackson Wyant and Carson Davis each had 16 and Park Truex went 8-8 at the line in the fourth on the way to 10 points.

BC’s (16-7) win gives it a share of the Mid-State League Buckeye Division title with Teays Valley as both schools finished with an 11-3 league record.

Circleville’s season is now complete while Bloom-Carroll will have its first tournament game Tuesday hosting Whitehall-Yearling.
