Mustangs win sectional, Braves and CHS’s Seimetz advance as well

CHILLICOTHE — Westfall laid claim to the Southeast District’s North Sectional at Jaycees Golf Course Tuesday. 

Lynchburg-Clay took second edging out Logan Elm on a fifth-score tiebreaker as both teams had a 323. Circleville placed eighth with a 355. 

Westfall sophomore Brendan Biegler was the match medalist with a 72. Logan Elm’s Grant Cline was second with a round of 75. 

Colton Brungarth had a 78 for Westfall, Jacob Hicks shot a round of 83 and Ian Camden and Dalton Bush each shot 88.

Graham Williams and Parker Calder each had rounds of 81 for Logan Elm with Cole Smith shooting 86 and Mason Gentry a 101. 

Circleville’s Reid Seimetz finished in a tie for sixth with a round of 79. He finished as one of the top five individuals not on a qualifying team earning him a spot in the district tournament. 

Maxton McKeivier shot a 90 for the Tigers, Brady Reuter shot 92, Caz Coyan shot 94 and Liam McConnell shot a 101. 

The Mustangs and Braves, along with Circleville’s Seimetz, will play in the district tournament at Crown Hill Golf Course next Wednesday.
