CANAL WINCHESTER — A second-place showing Tuesday at Westchester gave Circleville the edge it needed to claim a fourth-straight Mid-State League golf championship.
Bloom-Carroll had an eight-shot advantage to win Tuesday’s league matchup 399-407 over the Tigers. Logan Elm was third with a team score of 410.
Circleville’s Isabelle Perini shot a low round of 76, 11 shots better than BC’s Niley Mathias, to take medalist honors.
It was the fourth time in as many tries that Perini earned medalist honors at MSL matches which earned her a second-straight player of the year designation.
Alyssa Sharp shot a 104 for the Tigers with Molly Fountain shooting 109, Aleigh Michael 118, Allie Mullins 121 and Leah Thatcher 128.
Naomi Stahr led Logan Elm with a round of 90, Lily Slusher shot 97, Ella Vanderpool 106, Adalyn Brisker 117 and Jessica Fike 130.
Alana Benjamin had a round of 115 for Amanda-Clearcreek and Kalilah Jarrell shot 139.
Circleville bounced back from a fourth place showing at the first Mid-State League match at Crown Hill in August to win the next two MSL matchups at The View and Pickaway Golf Course.
