McDERMOTT — Earlier this week, the Westfall Mustangs completed an unbeaten run through the Scioto Valley Conference by topping the other seven schools in the final two matches played Thursday at the Portsmouth Elks Golf Course.
In SVC Match 7, which was the front nine, the Mustangs had a team 152 with Unioto second at 167 and Zane Trace third at 181.
In SVC Match 8, on the back nine, Westfall shot a 153, Piketon was second at 168 and the Shermans were third at 172.
Westfall’s Brendan Biegler claimed medalist honors in both matches. The junior shot a 2-under 34 in Match 7 and shot a 1-under 35 in Match 8.
After being just a couple shots away from medalist honors at the first two SVC matches played at Crown Hill in early August, Biegler earned medalist honors at the final six league matchups. For his performances this season, Biegler was named SVC Player of the Year.

Zane Trace claims SVC girls title
CHILLICOTHE — Zane Trace won six of the eight SVC golf matches to claim the girls championship Wednesday.
The Pioneers were second to Piketon Wednesday at the final match at the Chillicothe Jaycees course. Westfall finished sixth Wednesday and ended the year fifth overall in the league
Zane Trace sophomore Rosella Lattavo was medalist Wednesday with a 39 on the back nine at the Jaycees and was medalist in all eight SVC matches to earn Player of the Year honors.
