Teays Valley 34, Logan 0
(game called in second quarter)
ASHVILLE — Teays Valley’s senior night was going pretty well for the Vikings but ended early on a sour note when a fight broke out on the field leading to the officials calling the game with 10:27 still to go in the first half.
The Vikings (5-5, 3-4) were dominating their visitors from Logan to the tune of a 34-0 score when the game was called.
TV scored first on a 35-yard pass from Brady Farmer to Peter Graham. A big punt return set up a one-play possession where Spike Woods scored form 16 yards out. A 27-yard interception return from Carson Payne resulted in TV’s third touchdown and a 20-0 lead.

Logan got its only first down of the short game on its fourth possession thanks to a TV penalty before punting a few plays later. Woods had runs of 9, 61 and 8 yards to score as the first quarter was coming to a close.
On third down of Logan’s next possession, Woods intercepted a pass and ran it back 45 yards. A holding penalty wiped out his touchdown, but Evan Maynard had two runs totaling 10 yards for TV.
In a precursor of what was about to come, a Logan player was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct after Maynard’s second run.
With the penalty setting up the Vikings at the 4, Tommy Kozlowski got the carry and ran it in for a 34-0 lead.
After the tackle on the ensuing kickoff was when the game-ending fight broke out.
While officials and coaches were able to get it under control fairly quickly, a number of players had left their bench areas and entered the field of play. This is an automatic ejection in most states and after talking with both head coaches, the game was ruled to be over.

To that point, Woods had run for 107 yards on seven carries, and the Vikings had 155 yards of offense.
On the other side of the ball, Logan netted negative 29 yards in its limited number of plays.
When looking at a possible Week 11 opportunity, the Vikings needed to win and get some help. They got the win, but all four of the teams they had beat previously this season fell to their final opponents and TV has unofficially finished 15th in its region with only the top 12 making the playoffs this year.
Unioto 35, Westfall 13
CHILLICOTHE — Westfall gave it a valiant effort and scored more points than any other opponent, but Unioto was not to be denied as the Shermans downed the Mustangs 35-13 to wrap up an unbeaten regular season and win the gold football for a 7-0 run though the Scioto Valley Conference.
Unioto struck first on a TD pass from Isaac Coy to Jaxon Zickafoose but the teams were tied at 7-7 after Quinn Eberly hit Eli Wright on an 11-yard score.

It took two minutes of game time for the Shermans to cover 52 yards with Coy connecting with Brayden Harsha on a 10-yard touchdown for a 28-13 lead.
The Mustangs converted on a fourth down once but couldn’t do it a second time and gave the ball back to Unioto at their own 36.
Coy sealed up the gold football for his team when he threw his fifth touchdown of the night with 6:50 to go – this time it was a 27-yard play to David Long.
Any chance Westfall had of a comeback came to an end when Zickafoose intercepted a pass near the endzone with three minutes left.
Joey Wright led the Mustangs with 92 yards on 21 carries and had three receptions. Eli Wright ran for 38 yards and had two catches. Landen Sparks led the Mustansg in receiving with five catches for 68 yards. Eberly was 11-16 for 101 yards passing and ran for 17 yards.
The Mustangs had 248 yards of offense while the Shermans finished with 352.
Coy threw for 175 yards to go with the five touchdowns.
Prior to Westfall’s 13 points Friday, Unioto had only allowed a total of 27 points in the first nine games with five shutouts. Vinton County’s eight points in Week 2 was the previous high scored againt Unioto.
Westfall completes the season with a 6-4 record and tied for third in the SVC at 4-3.
Unioto is in line to get a week off before starting the playoffs hosting a Week 12 game.
