The basketball postseason has begun to take shape with the announcement of the tournament brackets for girls basketball in divisions III through VII.
Divisions I and II will be announced next weekend.
Circleville and Logan Elm sit atop the Southeast District’s Division IV bracket as the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively. Both open tournament play on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m.
Circleville (16-4) will host the winner of No. 8 Gallia Academy (11-6) and No. 9 Vinton County (12-6).
Logan Elm will host the winner of Mid-State League rival and No. 7 seed Fairfield Union (10-8) and No. 10 Jackson (7-13). The Braves have wins over both of these teams already this season and play the Falcons in their final regular season game, as well.
Westfall (6-15) is the No. 17 seed in Division V for the Southeast district and will travel to play at No. 8 Portsmouth West (12-8) on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
Portsmouth (16-2) is the No. 1 seed in the district.
In the Central District, Amanda-Clearcreek (8-12) is the No. 14 seed in Division V. Winners of their last seven games, the Aces head to No. 3 North Union (18-3) for a 4 p.m. tip on Saturday, Feb. 21.
Columbus Academy (19-1) is the No. 1 seed for Division V in the Central District.
Along with the last two girls’ divisions being announced next Sunday, the brackets for boys in divisions III through VI will be released next Sunday with Division I and Division II announced Feb. 22.
