Tigers post league win over Rangers

Five players contributed to a 20-point first-quarter on Saturday that set the tone for host Circleville in a 57-43 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win over Hamilton Township.
Ethan Moore and Briley Cramer scored six points apiece during the opening stanza that ended with the Tigers holding a 20-16 lead.
While the Tigers slowed their scoring output in the second quarter, they stepped it up defensively to yield the Rangers a lone field goal from Trent Renz to take a 28-18 lead into intermission.
Trevor Coleman had a big third quarter for the Tigers, knocking down a trio of three-pointers and scoring 11 of his 14 points during the stanza to expand the advantage to 44-32.
Moore led the way for the Tigers with 16 points, and Cramer and Coleman added 14 apiece.
Renz had 12 points to pace the Rangers (0-8, 0-6).
Both teams continue league play on Tuesday, as the Tigers (3-13, 2-7) travel to Logan Elm and the Rangers (0-8, 0-6) are slated to host Teays Valley.

Teays Valley handed host Fairfield Union its second loss of the season inside the MSL-Buckeye on Saturday, posting a 45-41 road win.
Megan Bush led the way with 16 points, Jenna Horsley tallied 12 and Ashley DeWeese added 10 for the Vikings.
Both teams return to the hardwood on Monday for league home games, as the Vikings (11-7, 6-4) take on Bloom-Carroll and the Falcons (7-3, 6-2) battle Logan Elm.

New Hope 30

Bloom-Carroll scorched the nets for 16 points in the first two minutes of a non-league game on Saturday to defeat host New Hope Christian 54-30.
The Bulldogs finished the period with a 19-6 lead and extended that advantage to 32-14 at halftime.
Maren McCallister had 16 points and Eden Leist added eight for the Statesmen (5-6).
Emily Bratton poured in a game-high 17 points for the Bulldogs (9-8).
