Braves fall to Lions 41-25

It was tough shooting day for Logan Elm Saturday afternoon as the Braves fell to Liberty Union 41-25.

The Braves (5-9, 4-7) failed to connect on a field goal in the first half of the contest as the Lions – who hit only one shot in the second quarter – led 16-2 at the intermission.

Josie Martin finally broke through for the Braves in the second minute of the third quarter as she hit a three-pointer. At the end of the third, LU was up 28-11.

Brynn Griffith ended the afternoon as LE’s top scorer with eight points and Martin had six. Sydney Fultz and Ashton Fox each had four.

Caroline Berlekamp led the Lions with 14 points and Emilee Powers had 11.

The Lions ended the contest with a 33-30 rebounding edge.

Anna Johnson led the Braves with 11 boards and Griffith had eight. Berlekamp had eight for the Lions and Abby Riddle had six.

Up next

The Braves are scheduled for a trip to Fairfield Union Monday night while the Lions are next in action Wednesday hosting Amanda-Clearcreek.
