SOFTBALL

Logan Elm 15, Circleville 5

Logan Elm got on the scoreboard early and put seven across in the fourth on the way to a 15-5 win over Circleville Friday.

Callena Wiget and Erin Gaskin led the Braves at the plate as they each went 3-5. Wiget drove in three runs and Gaskin two.

On a night when the Braves pounded out 15 hits, Cheyenne Arnold, Lynsay VanHoose, Avree Entler and Carlee Reed each had two for LE.

Carly King went the distance for the Braves giving up five runs on six hits while striking out seven and walking three with three hit batters.

Teays Valley 16, Hamilton Township 1

OBETZ — Alyssa Brown went 3-3 with a triple and drove in four runs as Teays Valley beat Hamilton Township 16-1 Friday.

It was an 11-hit night for the Vikings who jumped out with three runs in the top of the first. Another run in the second, seven in the third and five in the fifth lifted the Vikings to their ninth win against two losses. They are now 5-1 in league play.

Jaimlynne Munson got the win on the mound giving up five hits and one run while striking out two.

Amanda-Clearcreek 6, Liberty Union 2

AMANDA — Amanda-Clearcreek’s first three hitters reached base in the bottom of the first and came around to score to get the Aces off to a strong start on the way to a 6-2 win over visiting Liberty Union Friday.

Carly Singleton went 3-4 at the plate and scored twice while Paige Alford and Liberty Hopper each collected a pair of hits for the Aces. Logann Julian and Shyanne Miller each drove in a pair of runs.

Alford picked up the win pitching six innings allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven.

Westfall 16, Zane Trace 7

BASEBALL

Circleville 8, Logan Elm 3

Circleville put six runs across in the first inning on the way to an 8-3 win at Logan Elm Friday afternoon.

Scottie Moats and Wyatt Thatcher each collected a pair of hits and Moats drew three walks to lead the Tigers at the plate.

Braylen Baker and David Evans each had a pair of hits for the Braves.

Max Brooks picked up the win for the Tigers going six and a third innings on the mound giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out eight.

Peyton Anderson took the loss allowing eights run on 10 hits while striking out five and walking six.

Westfall 9, Zane Trace 4

KINNIKINNICK — Titan Williams went 4-5 with a triple and four RBI to help Westfall to a 9-4 win over Zane Trace Friday.

Trent Walters went 3-5 and Dillon Walisa went 2-3 on an afternoon where the Mustangs collected 13 hits.

Peyton Weiss went the distance on the mound giving up four runs (one earned) on six hits and struck out 11.

Teays Valley 12, Hamilton Township 2

OBETZ — Teays Valley scored in every frame Friday to defeat host Hamilton Township 12-2 in six innings.

Tommy Williams led the Vikings at the plate as he went 3-3 in the leadoff spot scoring twice and driving in two runs.

Adam Trisler went the distance on the mound allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits while striking out three and walking one.

Liberty Union 3, Amanda-Clearcreek 0

AMANDA – Liberty Union’s Jacob Miller was a strikeout machine Friday in a 3-0 win against Amanda-Clearcreek.

The Louisville commit struck out 20 AC batters in getting the shutout win.
