Friday’s roundup: Blackburn leads Mustangs past Bearcats

Luke Blackburn tossed a complete game two-hitter on Friday to help Westfall to a 5-1 Scioto Valley Conference win over host Paint Valley.
Blackburn allowed an unearned run, walked teo batters and struck out 12 Bearcats.
He also helped his cause offensively by going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Trent Walters was 2-for-4 and scored and Hunter McCoy singled and drove in a run.
The Mustangs scored a run in the first inning, another in the third and led 4-1 through five.
Westfall (10-5, 8-1) hosts Piketon on Monday for a conference game.

Teays Valley 1

Jacob Miller struck out 15 batters on Friday to lead Liberty Union to a 7-1 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win over host Teays Valley.
The Louisville commit allowed two hits and walked three batters over six innings of work to earn the win.
Liberty Union scored once in the first and four runs in the fourth to take a commanding 4-0 lead.
Jon Edwards was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Jacob Berlekamp went 2-for-4 and scored twice.
Landon Guisinger drove in the lone run for the Vikings, who fell two games off the pace of league-leading Bloom-Carroll.
Teays Valley (11-4, 7-2) travels to Hilliard Bradley today for a non-league game and Liberty Union (7-3, 4-3) hosts Bloom-Carroll on Monday to continue league play.

Logan Elm 1

Bloom-Carroll scored twice in the fourth and three more times in the fifth on Friday to seize control of an MSL-Buckeye game and defeat visiting Logan Elm 7-1.
Cannan Tucker and KJ Benedict each collected a pair of hits and scored and Joel Winters also had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Bulldogs.
Logan Moore earned the win in relief, tossing three innings, allowing a hit and striking out two batters.
Brody MacDonald drove in the lone run for the Braves, who were led by Gabe Chalfin going 2-for-3.

The Bulldogs (12-2, 9-0) travel to Clear Fork today for a non-league game and the Braves (3-14, 1-8) continue league play on Monday when they host Hamilton Township.

Hunter Matheny earned the win on Friday for Amanda-Clearcreek against host Hamilton Township in MSL-Buckeye action.
Trent Hedges doubled twice for the Aces, and Ryan Chambers and Grant Guiler each added a pair of singles.
The Aces (9-6, 4-4) host Fairfield Union on Monday for a league contest.

Amanda-Clearcreek scored six runs in its first two at-bats to set the tone on Friday for a 15-0 MSL-Buckeye win over host Hamilton Township in five innings.
Paige Alford led a 16-hit assault by going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Megan Tooill was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored. Liberty Hooper and Logann Julian each contributed two hits and an RBI while combining to score five runs (three by Julian), and Addison Icenhour had a pair of hits and scored twice.
Shyanne Miller checked the Rangers to hit and struck out six in five innings for the Aces (9-3, 6-3), who host Worthington Christian today for a non-league game.

Teays Valley scored four runs in the first and never trailed on Friday in an 8-2 MSL-Buckeye win over visiting Liberty Union.
Kennedy Cauger led the way by going 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, Reagan Mengerink went 3-for-3 and scored and Alexis Brown was 2-for-3.
Madison Cline pitched a complete game and allowed five hits and a pair of earned runs.
The Vikings (11-3, 7-2) host North Union today for a non-league twin bill.

Lexi Paulsen checked visiting Logan Elm to three hits and two runs (one earned) in a complete game effort on Friday to power Bloom-Carroll to an 8-2 MSL-Buckeye win.
The Washington commit walked one and struck out 12.
Bloom-Carroll scored one in the first and four more times in the second to take a 5-0 lead.
Reese Pittman was 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored and Kenzie Powers scored twice on a 3-for-4 evening for the Bulldogs.
Callena Wiget doubled, scored and drove in a run for the Braves.
Bloom-Carroll (12-2, 9-0) hosts Licking Heights today for a non-league game and Logan Elm (8-7, 4-5) travels to Gallia Academy for a non-league twin bill with Warren.

Paint Valley 8

Olivia Dumm had a four-hit day, scored three times and drove in a pair of runs on Friday to help power Westfall to a 15-8 SVC win over host Paint Valley.
Maddie Mullins added a pair of hits and drove in one.
The Mustangs (15-5, 7-2) travel to South Point today for a non-league twin bill.
