Roundup: LE nips AC baseball, Mustangs softball pulls away from Unioto

BASEBALL

Logan Elm 4, Amanda-Clearcreek 3

Peyton Anderson went the distance on the mound and Jeremy Weitelman drove in the winning run as Logan Elm beat Amanda-Clearcreek 4-3 Friday.

Unioto 3, Westfall 0

CHILLICOTHE — Unioto scored three times in the bottom of the first and that was all the Shermans needed in defeating visiting Westfall 3-0 Friday.

A couple of hits and a groundout drove in the Sherman runs.

Cameron Debord went all seven innings to get the win for the Shermans. He struck out 10 while giving up only two hits and walking four.

Peyton Weiss took the loss for Westfall going six innings, giving up five hits and striking out five.

Luke Blackburn doubled for Westfall and Trent Walters collected the Mustangs’ other hit.

Bloom-Carroll 11, Teays Valley 3

Bloom-Carroll pushed five runs across in the first inning on the way to beating host Teays Valley 11-3 Friday.

Eight BC baserunners scored in the contest as the Bulldogs collected 10 hits.

Joshua Moore got the win as he went four scoreless innings striking out six.

The Vikings scored three in the fifth off reliever Nick Helm as Peyton Weiler, AJ Moniaci and Hunter Young each drove in runs in the inning.

Adam Trisler took the loss for TV going four-and-a-third innings and giving up 10 hits. Adam McManes finished out the game for TV striking out three.

Liberty Union 2, Circleville 0

Liberty Union’s Jacob Miller had a dominating performance Friday as he struck out 21 Circleville batters in a 2-0 win for the Lions.

Mikey Vandagriff was on the mound for Circleville. He allowed six hits and struck out five.

Tate Debord had Circleville’s lone hit in the contest.

SOFTBALL

Amanda-Clearcreek 3, Logan Elm 1

The runs were spread out along with the hits as Amanda-Clearcreek notched a 3-1 win over Logan Elm on a windy Friday afternoon.

Paige Alford got the win for the Aces striking out 11 and walking two.

Carly King took the loss for LE striking out six and walking one.

Logan Juliann led the way for the Aces collecting three hits in the game and Carly Singleton had two.

Cheyenne Arnold and Carlee Reed each had two hits for the Braves.

Westfall 11, Unioto 4

CHILLICOTHE — Westfall broke open a tie ballgame with five runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to beat host Unioto Friday.

Olivia Dumm went the distance allowing five hits and striking out three.

Maddie Mullins went 3-4 with a home run and three RBI for Westfall and Abbie Bickenheuser had a home run as well.

Bloom-Carroll 6, Teays Valley 1

ASHVILLE — A couple first-inning errors and 13 strikeouts by Lexi Paulsen helped Bloom-Carroll to a 6-1 win over host Teays Valley Friday.

After scoring two unearned runs in the first, the Bulldogs added a run in the fifth, the sixth and two more in the seventh.

Teays Valley scored its lone run in the sixth off a leadoff double from Morgan Cantrell and a one-out double from Faith Thompson.

Madison Cline went the distance for the Vikings allowing six runs, only one earned, on 11 hits with two strikeouts and a walk.

Liberty Union 6, Circleville 5

Liberty Union came back from a 3-1 deficit to beat host Circleville 6-5 Friday.

The Tigers got out on top 2-1 after the first inning and added a run in the third.

The Lions battled back with one in the fifth and one in the sixth to tie the game. LU sent three across in the top of the seventh and then held off the Tigers’ comeback bid to preserve the win.

Hayes (two doubles), Michael and Karipe each had a pair of hits for the Tigers.

Fairfield Union 10, Hamilton Township 0
