Aces use third quarter run to tame Lions

Amanda-Clearcreek erupted for 27 points in the second half on Saturday to claim a 37-33 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win over visiting Liberty Union.
The Lions led 15-10 at halftime, but the Aces used a 15-6 third quarter run to take a 25-21 lead entering the final period of play.
Five players scored during the key third quarter run for the Aces, led by Emily Buckley tossing in seven of her game-high 23 points.
Grace Davis and Sara Sharp added four points apiece for the Aces (7-5, 4-3), who host New Hope on Tuesday for a non-league tilt.

Circleville 39

Circleville was limited to just nine first-half points on Saturday in a 68-39 MSL-Buckeye loss to host Bloom-Carroll.
The Tigers trailed 18-3 following a quarter of play and 35-9 at the break.
Gabby McConnell and Lily Winter paced the Tigers with 10 points apiece, Logan Jone tallied seven and Faith Yancey chipped in five.
Emily Bratton poured in a game-high 22 points and Reese Pittman had 13 for the Bulldogs (10-2, 6-2).
The Tigers (6-8, 3-5) travel to Washington Court House on Monday for a non-league game.

Horizon Science 14

New Hope ripped off 20 points in the opening quarter on Saturday and went on to rout visiting Horizon Science 64-14.
Five players contributed to the scoring in the first period for the Stateswomen, led by Maren McCallister tossing in 10 of her game-high 28 points.
New Hope led 20-5 after a period of play and 36-7 at halftime.
Eden Leist contributed 15 points and Jenna Tripp added 10.
