A fast start to the second half propelled Liberty Union to a 39-33 win over Circleville Friday night.
The teams were tied at 19-19 coming back from halftime. The Lions hit five of their first six shots from the field, including three three-pointers from Ella Brown, while the Tigers connected on only one shot, to go up 32-21.Â
Circleville had a good finish to the period scoring seven of the last eight points to close the gap to 33-28 entering the final quarter.

Circleville got four points from Logan Jones and Liberty Union got four from Delaney Peck in the first two-and-a-half minutes of the fourth quarter. In those last five-plus minutes, only three more points were scored — one more from Jones and a basket by LU’s Alexis Leith.
Brown was the game’s leading scorer with 15 points and Peck had nine.
Faith Yancey, who scored seven points in the last minute of the first quarter, led Circleville with 13.
Circleville had a 30-28 rebounding edge with Gabby McConnell grabbing seven and Lily Winter and Yancey each grabbing six.
Brown grabbed eight for Liberty Union while Ember McClaskey and Peck each grabbed six.
