Aces wrap up regular season with win at LE

Amanda-Clearcreek wrapped up its regular season schedule with a 52-22 win at Logan Elm Monday night. 

Grace Davis led the Aces with 13 points while Emily Buckley put in 11 as nine AC players found the scoring column Monday.

Logan Elm, which still has one regular season game on the schedule, scored first Monday on a basket from Maggie Wilson, but AC had the next 13 to lead 13-2 after the first quarter. 

Buckley had six in the second quarter as AC extended its lead to 26-7 by halftime. 

Five Aces scored in an 18-point third quarter in getting out in front 44-17.

Clara Wilson sunk three three-pointers to lead LE with nine points. Zoe Karshner, Logan Elm’s lone senior, had six points and three rebounds in her final home game. 

Both squads had their shooting issues leading to a number of rebound opportunities. The Aces won that battle 43-29. 

Hailey Sowers led AC with five and Davis and Buckley each had four on a night when everybody on the AC roster had at least one rebound.

Maggie Wilson led the Braves with seven rebounds while Clara Wilson and Hannah Rhoads each had five.

Up next 

Amanda-Clearcreek (14-8, 8-6) has some time off before starting postseason play. The Aces host Fredericktown on Feb. 19. 

The Braves (0-21, 0-13) finish up their regular season at Hamilton Township tomorrow in a game slated to tip at 5:30. The Braves will then begin postseason play at Athens on Feb. 10.
