Aces, Braves earn non-league wins

Amanda-Clearcreek dropped a nine-spot on Athens in the sixth inning on Saturday to blow open a non-league game and post an 11-1 win at VA Memorial Stadium.
The Aces used a run in the first and another in the second to build an early 2-1 lead over the Bulldogs.
Kansas Rhymer went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Grant Guiler tripled, drove in two runs and scored and Trent Hedges singled and scored twice.
Hunter Matheny worked four inning and allowed six hits and an earned run to claim the victory. The A-C senior walked two and struck out two.
Amanda-Clearcreek (2-2) resumes Mid-State League Buckeye Division play on Monday when it hosts Teays Valley.
Logan Elm 5,
Chillicothe 2

Logan Elm used a three-run fifth to take the lead and tacked on an insurance run in the seventh for a 5-2 non-league win on Saturday over host Chillicothe.
Keegan Diehl singled and drove in two runs, Colton Eplin also had a single and drove in a run, and Braylen Baker scored twice and drove in a run.
Carson Summers worked five and two-third innings and allowed two earned runs to take the win. Eplin nailed down the save by allowing a hit and striking out two in one and one-third innings.
Logan Elm won the opening game 10-9.
The Braves (2-3) host Hamilton Township on Monday for a league game.

Circleville 4

Washington Court House took advantage of nine walks on Saturday to defeat Circleville 8-4 in a non-league game played at VA Memorial Stadium.
The Blue Lions scored three times in the first and three more runs in the fifth to take a 6-3 lead.
Angelo Travis was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Nick Burns went 2-for-3 and Austin Gray drove in two runs for the Tigers (2-2), who resume MSL-Buckeye play on Monday at Fairfield Union.

Wheelersburg 5

Teays Valley pounded out 12 hits on Saturday to defeat Wheelersburg 10-5 in a non-league game at the Groveport Cruiser Classic.
The Vikings led 4-1 following two innings of play and 7-3 after four.
Alyssa Brown smacked a two-run homer as part of a 2-for-4 day with four RBI and a run scored, Kadance Fraley doubled twice on a 2-for-4 afternoon with two RBI and a run scored, Kennedy Cauger was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Faith Thompson hit a solo homer.
Sydney Manring allowed three hits and an earned run over four and one-third innings in the win. The TV freshman walked two and struck out five.
Teays Valley 6,
Walsh Jesuit 3

Teays Valley erased an early three-run deficit on Saturday on it way to a 6-3 non-league win over Walsh Jesuit at the Groveport Cruiser Classic.
The Vikings answered Walsh Jesuit’s three-run first with two in their half of the inning and then scored three more runs in the third to take a 5-3 lead.
Alyssa Brown was 2-for-3, including a solo homer, drove in a run and scored twice, Kennedy Cauger was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored and Faith Thompson hit a solo shot.
Sydney Manring tossed three innings of scoreless relief, allowing two hits, a walk and struck out six as she was credited with the win.
The Vikings (5-0) travel to Amanda-Clearcreek on Monday for a MSL-Buckeye tilt.
