Another day, another unbeaten opponent falls by the wayside.
Westfall used a pair of home runs to take the lead for good in the first inning on Wednesday and went on to post a 4-1 Scioto Valley Conference win over host Adena.
The Mustangs (10-2, 5-1) have knocked Unioto (8-1, 5-1) and Adena (10-1, 5-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten over the past two days and are now in a three-way tie for first in the conference. Westfall closes first-round play on Thursday when it entertains Zane Trace (7-4, 3-3).
Abbie Bickenheuser gave the Mustangs a quick lead in the opening frame when she hit a two-out homer. After a single by Olivia Dumm, Makayla Cook socked a two-run shot to make it 3-0.
The Mustangs tacked on what turned out to be their final run in the second on an RBI single by Emma Henry.
Adena scored its lone run in the third.
Dumm earned the win for the Mustangs with an efficient 87-pitch outing that included 60 strikes. The Westfall junior allowed four hits, an unearned run and struck out three.
Teays Valley 20,
Logan Elm 3
Teays Valley scored in all five of its at-bats on Wednesday as it posted a 20-3 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win over host Logan Elm.
The Vikings led 5-0 after the first inning, 8-1 through two and 14-3 after three.
Morgan Cantrell led a 21-hit attack for the Vikings by going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs scored. Emma Helwagen had three hits and scored three times, Reagan Mengerink smacked a home run as part of a three-hit day that included two RBI and four runs scored and Alyssa Brown also had three hits, scored three times and drove in a pair of runs.
Madison Cline allowed five hits and three earned runs to record the win. The TV senior walked none and struck out three.
Avree Entler doubled and drove in a run for the Braves. Carly King and Maraya Neff each singled and drove in a run.
The Vikings (9-1, 5-0) host Liberty Union on Thursday for a league game, while the Braves (4-8, 2-4) continue league play on Friday with a trip to Hamilton Township.

Katelyn Folkes hit a home run on Wednesday for Circleville in a 3-2 MSL-Buckeye loss to host Bloom-Carroll.
The Tigers (7-3, 2-3) hosts Fairfield Union on Friday for a league game.

Adam Trisler tossed a complete game, four-hitter on Wednesday, sending Teays Valley to a 6-1 MSL-Buckeye win over host Logan Elm.
Trisler allowed an earned run, walked a batter and struck out seven.
Peyton Weiler led off the game with a center to third, advanced to third on an errant throw on a bunt by Tommy Williams and scored on a ground out to short by Will Murphy.
Teays Valley doubled its lead in the third when Landon Brent singled to right with two outs to score Guisinger.
The Braves made it a 2-1 game in their half of the third when Braylen Baker singled to center with two outs to score Carson Summers.
Teays Valley responded by manufacturing a run in the fourth. Tyler Love led off the frame with a single to left, stole second, advanced to third on a fly out by Weiler and scored on a ground out to first off the bat of Williams.
The Vikings expanded their lead to 5-1 in the sixth. Weiler doubled to left to knock in Ben France. After Weiler stole third, Williams grounded out to first to score Weiler.
Weiler paced the Vikings by going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Brent was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI.
Both teams continue league play on Friday, as the Vikings (7-3, 4-2) host Amanda-Clearcreek and the Braves (4-7, 2-4) travel to Hamilton Township.

Circleville 4
Bloom-Carroll took its first lead in the bottom of the eighth inning on Wednesday in a 5-4 walk-off MSL-Buckeye win over visiting Circleville.
The Tigers jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the second and took led 4-2 entering the sixth, when the Bulldogs scored a pair of runs to tie the game.
Circleville out-hit Bloom-Carroll 12-7 but left a dozen base runners stranded.
Tate DeBord was 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored, including a solo home run, Scott Moats was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Nick Burns went 2-for-3, Matt Bradley drove in a run, scored and went 2-for-3 and Logan Smith added a 2-for-4 evening and scored.
The Tigers (6-5, 4-2) travel to Hamilton Township on Thursday to continue league play.
Liberty Union 5, Amanda-Clearcreek 1
Liberty Union scored the first four runs of an MSL-Buckeye game on Wednesday in a 5-1 win over host Amanda-Clearcreek.
The Lions scored once in the third inning and twice more in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead.
Peyton Cassley went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Trent Hedges singled and scored for the Aces (6-5, 3-4), who continue league play on Friday at Teays Valley.

Westfall 5
Adena extended an SVC game with a run in the seventh and walked off an inning later with a 6-5 win over visiting Westfall.
The Mustangs scored three runs in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead, but the Warriors responded with two runs in their half of the frame. After each side scored a run in the sixth, the Warriors then tied the game at 5-5 in the seventh.
Trent Walters was 2-for-5 with two runs scored, Hunter McCoy went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Bryce Wickline finished the evening with a 2-for-3 performance. Bryant Coker added a solo homer.
The Mustangs (5-4, 3-3) continue conference play on Thursday when they host Zane Trace.
