TV’s Keplar signs with Findlay

Read our feature story about Keplar before postseason competition earlier this fall.

Teays Valley senior Audrey Keplar signed a national letter of intent recently to continue golfing at the University of Findlay, an NCAA Division II school. Keplar is a four-time district tournament qualifier in Division I and a three-time Mid-State League Buckeye Division Player of the Year.

Keplar sat down with us for a question and answer.

Question: How did it feel to have your collegiate decision become official with signing your national letter of intent to become an Oiler?

Answer: It felt really good to know where I am going and be able to start preparing for college. I’m excited to be part of a really good program and be with other girls who also love golf. It felt good to sign the letter and make it official.

Question: What were some of the exceptional memories you will take from playing golf at Teays Valley?

Answer: Getting to the district tournament my first year with Brooke DeVolld was really exciting as a freshman. Shooting a 67 and breaking the school 18-hole record my sophomore year was also an amazing memory. Making first-team all-district this year following a great season is something really cool that I was able to accomplish this year.

Question: Discuss where you feel like your game is right now heading into college and what you want to work on from a physical and strength perspective?

Answer: I am excited about where my game is at right now, I will still be lifting and strength training with Chad Conley this year and always trying to get stronger for the longer college distances. I’ve started practicing from farther back tees and I feel like I will be able to adjust my game as I work more on my swing over the winter months.

Question: What goals do you have for yourself playing golf collegiately at the University of Findlay?

Answer: I would really love to help the team get another National title. I am going to take advantage of all of the great practice facilities and see how far I can take my game.
