Aces win Jeff Arndt Classic

Amanda-Clearcreek won a pair of weight classes and claimed four second-place finishes on Saturday on the way to winning its annual Jeff Arndt Classic.

The Aces trumped the 16-school field with 216 points, followed by Logan (204), Zanesville (174.5) and Zane Trace (168).

The wrestlers put forth a great effort and it was an honor to hoist the team trophy with Coach Arndt present at the tournament that’s named for him,” A-C coach Curtis Martin said.

Landon L’Huillier won the 138-pound weight class by winning four of his five matches by pin and the other via forfeit.

Bodie Martin prevailed in the 144-pound weight class, winning four of his five matches by technical fall and the other with a pin.

Jed Sahr (113), Jacob Durr (126), Ben Mead (138), Peyton Beavers (150) all finished second for the Aces.

Westfall was also in attendance and finished ninth with 121 points.

Wyatt Ward (126) and Tim Ward (150) both finished third for the Mustangs.
