Westfall took charge with a five-run first inning on Thursday on its way to a 7-5 non-conference win over host Wellston. It was the third win in the last four days for the Mustangs.
Delana Landefeld led off the game with a single to center and advanced to third on a wild pitch and stolen base. An error on a fly ball hit to center by Ava Heath allowed Landefeld to cross home plate with the first run of the night.
Olivia Dumm worked a walk and Makayla Cook then singled to left, loading the sacks full of Mustangs.
Gabby Henry and Sydney Fuller followed with back-to-back singles that chased home Heath and courtesy runner Sophia Henson.
Madison Kearney followed with the big blow of the inning two outs later when she lined a single to center that scored Fuller and Henry.

Fuller gave the Mustangs a 6-0 lead an inning later when she singled to left with two outs to score Heath.
After the Rockets reached the scoreboard with two runs in their half of the second, Westfall scored its last run of the night in the third when Grace Long led off the inning with a single to center and later scored on a double to left courtesy of Heath.

Wellston scored two more runs in its half of the third to shave its deficit to 7-4 and crossed the plate once more in the seventh.
Fuller paced the Mustangs by going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored, Gabby Henry was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored and Landefeld also went 2-for-4 and scored.
Dumm allowed three hits and four runs (two earned) in three innings to earn the win. She walked none and struck out three. Anna Snyder tossed the final four frames, allowing two hits, an unearned run, walked two and struck out two.
The Mustangs (5-4) resume Scioto Valley Conference play on Friday at Southeastern.
