Teays Valley used a quick start on Saturday to set the tone for a 6-1 non-league win over host Marysville in a battle of Division I Central District powers.
Morgan Cantrell doubled to center with one out in the first and Micah Mann followed with an RBI double to left on a 1-2 pitch.
Mann advanced to third on a ground out by Reagan Mengerink and scored on a single to right off the bat of Alyssa Brown.
The Vikings doubled their lead to 4-0 in the second.
Sydney Manring singled to center with one out and Cantrell followed one out later on a double to left to chase home Manring. Mann then singled to left to knock in Cantrell.
Marysville (10-1) scored its run in its half of the second on a solo homer over the right field fence off the bat of Sienna Hutchins.
Teays Valley scored its final two runs in the seventh.
Cantrell led off the inning with a single to left and scored two outs later on a two-run shot over the center field fence by Brown.

Brown was a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored, Cantrell went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI and Mann was 2-for-4, drove in two runs and scored.
Manring started the game and allowed two hits and an earned run over two and two-third innings to post the win. Isabel Sayre allowed three hits over two innings and Alyvia Lawrentz finished the final two and one-third, allowing two hits and striking out three.
In the second game, the Vikings rallied from a 1-0 deficit with three runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to claim a 5-1 non-league win over Kenton Ridge (9-2).
Teays Valley opened the home fourth with doubles from Mann, Mengerink and Brown to score the first two runners and take a 2-1 lead.
Brown advanced to third on an infield single by Aimee DeWeese and scored one out later on a groundout to shortstop by Abbi Revalee.
Michelle Brumfield opened the home fifth with a double to venter, advanced to third on an infield single by Cantrell and scored when Mann reached on an error.
Mengerink followed with a single to center to score Mann.
Brumfield went 3-for-4 and a run scored, Mengerink posted a 2-for-3 performance with two RBI and a run scored and Cantrell was 2-for-4 and scored.
Sayre started the game and earned the win, allowing four hits and an unearned run in four inning. Manring tossed the next two frames and Lawrentz logged the final inning.
The Vikings (15-2) resume Mid-State League Buckeye Division play on Monday at Liberty Union.
