Braves run-rule Aces in six innings

Logan Elm pounded out 16 hits on Tuesday on its way to a 17-6 Mid-State League Buckeye Division win over visiting Amanda-Clearcreek in six innings.

The Braves scored six runs in the third to take a 6-1 lead.

Carson Summers reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second and advanced to third on an infield single to third by Aaron Walters. A double steal allowed Summers to score but resulted in Walters being thrown out.

Kyle Rine reached on a single and eventually scored when Zack Parks lined a single to center and advanced to second on the throw home.

Zane Seimer reached on an error and a dropped third strike allowed Mason Gentry to take first and bring in Parks to score.

Keegan Diehl then lined a triple to center that chase home Seimer and Gentry.

Kelton Bennington followed with a single to left that scored Diehl.

Parks went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored, Walters turned in a perfect 3-for-3 ledger with four RBI, Summers was 2-for-3 with two RBI and four runs scored and Rine added a 2-for-5 evening and scored twice.

Grant Cline scattered nine hits over six innings and allowed six runs (three earned). He walked four and struck out seven in the win.

The Braves (3-10, 2-4) continue league play today at Teays Valley.
