Nursing a 5-3 lead entering the fifth inning on Thursday, Westfall sent 12 batters to the plate and dented the plate eight times on its way to a 22-7 non-conference win over host Fairfield in six innings.
Grace Long and Madison Kearney opened the frame with back-to-back doubles and Delana Landefeld reached on a fielder’s choice.
Following a walk to Ava Heath, Olivia Dumm hit a two-run to center that scored Kearney and Landefeld.
Makayla Cook then doubled to left to drive in both Heath and courtesy runner Logan McNeal and Gabby Henry followed with a single to right that scored courtesy runner Sophia Henson.
Sydney Fuller capped the inning with a two-run homer over the center field fence to give the Mustangs a commanding 13-3 advantage.
Fuller turned in a perfect 5-for-5 ledger that included four RBI and three runs scored, Long was 4-for-5 and scored twice, Cook posted a 3-for-4 stat line that included four RBI and a run scored and Kearney added a 3-for-5 evening with three RBI and two runs scored. Ava Heath doubled twice and scored three runs and Dumm singled twice and drove in two.
Dumm worked the first three innings, allowing three hits and three earned runs to claim the win. She walked none and struck out six.
The Mustangs (10-7) resume Scioto Valley Conference play on Friday when they host Piketon.
