CHS girls take second at McClain Invitational

The Circleville girls track and field team finished second on Friday at the McClain Invitational.

McClain topped the eight-school field with 136.50 points, followed by Circleville (129.50) and Miami Trace (119).
Faith Yancey won the 100 in 12.65 and struck gold in the 200 in 26.18.

Maddux Bigam prevailed in the 1600 in 5:24 flat and also won the 3200 in 12:00.54. Ellie Patrick turned in a golden finish in the 800 in 2:31.10.

Emma Groff topped the triple jump field in 30-09 feet and finished second in the pole vault at 9-06 feet and teammate Payton Ford followed in third, based on tiebreaker, also at 9-06 feet.

The 400-relay team of Sydney Lattimer, Isabelle Perini, Payton Ford and Yancey topped the field in 51.49 and the 3200-relay team of Maddux Bigam, Morgan Blakeman, Aly Hatfield and Ellie Patrick finished second in 10:42.69.

Lattimer finished third in the long jump at 15-09 feet.

Circleville finished fifth in the boys field with 89 points.

Hillsboro topped the eight-school field with 129 points, followed by Washington Court House (120) and McClain (100).

Zach Buitendorp won the pole vault at 13-feet and Omari Graham was second in the triple jump in 37-00.50 feet.

The 800-relay team of Graham, Jake Yancey, Joe Streitenberger and Jude Blair turned in a winning time of 1:34.38 and the 400-relay team of Streitenberger, Yancey, Daniel Cutliff and Blair claimed silver in 45.56.

Streitenberger turned in a bronze showing of 24.33 in the 200.
