Braves, Tigers get final work in before stretch run

Circleville and Logan Elm got one last warm-up before the Mid-State League Buckeye Division championships on Friday in the Circleville National Guard Invitational.

Sheridan topped the six-school boys field with 132.5 points, followed by Athens (108.5) and Logan Elm (104).

Michael Bock turned in a golden finish in the 100 in 11.74 and was third in the 200 in 24.12.

Nate Edge won the 110 hurdles in 16.95 and took second in the high jump at 5-08 feet. The 1600-relay team won in 3:39.02.

Gage Arnett earned silver in the 400 in 54.08 and Luke Thompson finished second in the pole vault at 11-06 feet.

Hunter Kersey was second in the discus with a heave of 127-11 feet.

Drew Tomlinson was third in the 300 in 45.36 and took home bronze in the long jump at 18-06.75 feet.

Circleville was fifth with 53 points.

Zach Buitendorp won the pole vault at 13-06 feet, with teammate Christian Kellough finishing third in 10-01 feet. Buitendorp also claimed bronze in the 110 hurdles in 18.06.

The 400-relay team was second in 44.89. and the 800-relay also turned in a silver finish in 1:35.53.

Sheridan also won the six-school girls title with 151 points, followed by Athens (124) and the host Tigers (122).

Faith Yancey won the 100 in 13.13 and the 200 in 26.86.

Ella Patrick topped the 800 field in 2:34.18 and Maddux Bigam earned gold in the 3200 in 11:40.93.

Sydney Lattimer won the long jump at 16-04.75 feet.

Circleville won the 400-relay in 51.46, claimed gold in the 1600-relay in 4:25.42, was second in the 800-relay team was in 1:55.23 and took home silver in the 3200-relay in 10:40.44.

Haiden Donaldson was third in the discus with a heave of 89-07 feet and Taegan Retherford earned bronze in the shot put with a toss of 31-01.50 feet.

Logan Elm was fourth with 70 points.

Vera Henderly was second in the 800 in 2:37.28 and earned silver in the 1600 in 5:37.51.

Tayla Tootle finished second in the pole vault at 10-06 feet and Maggie Wilson claimed silver in the discus with a heave of 108-feet.

Claire King was third in the high jump at 4-08 feet.

The 1600-relay team was third in 4:38.51.

Logan Elm and Circleville travel to Bloom-Carroll on Tuesday for the first night of the MSL-Buckeye championships.
