Tigers seek to finish season at Ohio State

Circleville Tigers Girls Golf

Coach: Eric Evans

2022 season: Mid-State League Buckeye Division champions (19-1 record in league play) and Division II Southeast District runner-up

Key returnees: Elaina Seeley (Senior, First-team All-MSL and All-District), Izzy Seeley (Senior, First-team All-MSL), Isabelle Perini (Sophomore, First-team All-MSL and honorable mention All-District) and Alyssa Sharp (Sophomore, honorable mention All-MSL)

Newcomers: Freshmen Ava Kerns and Aleigh Michael

Circleville senior Elaina Seeley is one of the top returning players in south central Ohio and wants to lead the Tigers to their first state tournament berth in program history.

Season outlook: Coming off the best campaign in program history, the mission is clear this season for the Circleville girls golf team.

Qualify for the state tournament.

Obviously, there is a lot of work between now and then to accomplish that goal, but coach Eric Evans has put together the most challenging schedule in program history that includes facing a bevy of Ohio Capital Conference schools to prepare the Tigers to start blazing their tournament path in late September.

“We are very excited to build off of the success we had last season as we look to defend our MSL title and build off of our District Runner-Up finish,” Evans said. “Having four all-league returners with their experience, including a top player in the area in Elaina Seeley, gives us hope we can accomplish great things in 2023.  We’ve put together a challenging schedule with the goal of playing our best golf at the end of September and October!”
