A new 18-hole program record scorecard of 350 on Monday allowed the defending champion Circleville Tigers to easily take top billing in the first Mid-State League match of the season at Crown Hill Golf Club.
“I’m extremely pleased with our overall performance today,” Circleville coach Eric Evans said. “It’s always great to get off to such a solid start in the chase for a league title.”
Teays Valley followed in second, 44 strokes behind the Tigers, with a 394 in the seven-school field.

“Elaina continued to anchor us from the top spot in the lineup as the only person to break 80 on the day,” Evans praised. “Izzy displayed some of her true potential out there with her career-best round of 81. She had great command over all aspects of her game, especially off the tee.
“Career-best scores from Lis and Aleigh were also highlights today, along with Isabelle grinding out her 84 after really struggling to begin her round. Our focus as a group has been tremendous early in the season.”
