Falcons on top of both sides of Kiwanis Invitational

Fairfield Union came out on top in both varsity races at Saturday’s Circleville Kiwanis Invitational. 

Juniors Andrew Walton (15:26), Christian Reindle (16:23) and Nathan Philips (16:36) finished first, third and fourth, respectively, to lead Fairfield Union to the win in the 29-team race. 

The Falcons finished the day with a team score of 36 while Unioto took second with a score of 87. Chillicothe was third with 104. 

Westfall’s boys were fifth with a score of 204, Logan Elm was 16^th with 443, New Hope placed 20^th with a score of 525 and the host Tigers were 22^nd with a score of 565. Amanda-Clearcreek did not have enough runners to post a team score. 

On the girls’ side, three local runners finished in the top five with Circleville’s Maddux Bigam third in 19:59.7, Westfall’s Caitlyn Shipley fourth in 10:08.1 and Westfall’s Anay Sierra fifth in 20:27.4. 

Fairfield Union senior Anna Conrad won the race in 18:39 to lead her Falcons to the title in the 28-team event. The Falcons had their other four scoring runners finish in the top 25 to post a team score of 53. Unioto had two runners in the top 10 to finished second with a score of 68 and Chillicothe took third with a score of 103. 

Westfall finished sixth with a team score of 175 and Logan Elm was 11^th with 244. Neither Circleville, Amanda-Clearcreek nor New Hope had enough runners to compile a team score.

Logan Elm won the middle school girls race with a score of 64 and Westfall was third with 100. On the middle school boys side, Fairfield Union was on top with a score of 67 and Logan Elm was second with 87 while Circleville was ninth with 152 points.
