Golf roundup: Lady Tigers dominant in MSL match, Mustangs stumble in SVC

Circleville remains unbeaten in MSL play

Circleville came out on top in the third Mid-State League golf match of the season with a score of 350 at Pickaway Golf Course

Teays Valley was second with a score of 414. 

Elaina Seeley was medalist for the third time in as many MSL matches with a 76. Isabelle Perini shot 82, Izzy Seeley had an 88 and Lis Sharp shot 104. 

“I was extremely pleased with how our girls performed today and maintained focus during the entire round,” CHS coach Eric Evans said. “There were many highlights, including a 35 from Elaina on the back nine and Lis shooting her career-best nine-hole score of 46 on the front nine.  

“Isabelle continued her very consistent MSL play with limited mistakes and a great short game display.”

The Tigers improve to 18-0 in league play with one match to go.

Addison Ebele led Teays Valley with a 91 and Brooklyn Lowery posted a 100. 

Mallory Stevens led Logan Elm to a fifth-place finish with a 111.

Circleville will look to wrap up a perfect run through the league when the seven competing schools meet up at Westchester Golf Course Tuesday for the final MSL match of the season.

Unioto takes first at Big Beaver, Mustangs fourth

PIKETON — Unioto tightened up the SVC boys golf race posting a 169 to win the fourth league match Wednesday. 

Played at Big Beaver Golf Course, Piketon’s Brevin Wooldridge and the Shermans’ Keegan Snyder shared medalist honors with a score of 39.

Piketon took second in the match with a 176, Zane Trace was third with 177 and previously unbeaten Westfall was fourth with a 179. 

Brendan Biegler led the Mustangs with a 42, Isaac Stevens posted a 45, Ian Camden and Dalton Bush each shot 46 while Jacob Hicks and Colton Brungarth shot 47.

Despite the setback, the Mustangs maintain their lead in the SVC standings with 37 points while the Sherman sit a point behind with 36. Zane Trace is third with 29.
